Partner Spotlight: TWS Trailer Rentals

Vickie Spears runs TWS Trailer Rentals out of Crowley, Texas, where she and her husband Rick have been renting dump trailers, enclosed trailers, and car haulers since May 2025. Less than a year into business, they have repeat customers, an active social media presence, and a rental operation that runs whether Vickie is on-site or not. That last part is the one she's most proud of.

"Customers say that checking out online is so much simpler now," she says. "Especially the checking in and out β€” because I don't even necessarily have to be there anymore. They shoot me some pictures, I send them the code to the trailer, and they're off."

It wasn't always that simple. Before finding HQ Rent, Vickie and Rick were looking for a way to reduce the friction in their rental process β€” not just for themselves, but for their customers. "The process of renting the trailer, checking out, checking in β€” it was just a lot. It was difficult for them," Vickie explains. "So we wanted to simplify things for not only the customer but for ourselves."

What they needed was a platform that could handle the full customer experience β€” online booking, contactless pickup, documentation β€” without requiring Vickie to be physically present for every transaction. For a small operation where the owners wear every hat, that kind of automation isn't a convenience. It's what makes the business viable.

Today, TWS Trailer Rentals serves a mix of residential and commercial customers. Homeowners rent the dump trailer for cleanouts and landscaping projects. Local business owners who don't keep trailers on their own lots call when they need to move equipment. And then there are the regulars β€” including a local realtor who rents their 7x14 enclosed trailer on a regular basis, loading it for staging jobs and breaking it back down after.

For operators still managing rentals on paper or a platform that was never designed for the job, Vickie's advice is straightforward. "Having used a couple of different websites prior to trying HQ Rent β€” this one is just simpler. The setup of it. For me, because I'm very hands-on, I want to know what I'm using. It's trailer rental software that’s as user-friendly for me as much as for the customer."

Less than a year in, TWS Trailer Rentals is building exactly the kind of business Vickie and Rick set out to build: local, reliable, and running on its own.
